The AXEL Beanie Knitting Pattern

The AXEL Beanie is a classic watch cap style ribbed hat, which can be worn many different ways. This pattern includes Super Bulky, Light Super Bulky, Bulky, and Light Bulky versions of the hat.

YARN and NEEDLES:

Super Bulky:

• 70 yds Super Bulky (6) weight yarn [Malabrigo Rasta (150g / 90yds, We Are Knitters The Wool (200g / 87yds), Wool & The Gang Crazy Sexy Wool (200g / 87yds), or Indie Dyed 250g / 126yds)]
• US 13 (9.0mm) 16” Circular Knitting Needles and Double Pointed Needles (DPNs) (optional)

Light Super Bulky:

• 70 yds Super Bulky (6) weight yarn [Baah Sequoia (125g / 85yds) or Madeline Tosh ASAP (127g / 90yds)] OR one skein Indie Dyed Single Ply Super Bulky (100g / 76yds)
• US 11 (8.0mm) 16” Circular Knitting Needles and Double Pointed Needles (DPNs) (optional)

Bulky / Chunky:

• 1 skein Bulky (5) weight yarn [Malabrigo Chunky (100g / 104yds) or Indie Dyed (100g / 109yds). One skein is enough yarn to make a beanie with a fold-up brim.]
• US 10.5 (6.5mm) 16” Circular Knitting Needles and Double Pointed Needles (DPNs) (optional)

Light Bulky:

• 1 skein Light Bulky (5) weight yarn [Malabrigo Mecha (100g / 130yds) or We Are Knitters The Petite Wool (100g / 142yds). One skein is enough yarn to make a beanie with a fold-up brim.]
• US 9 (5.5mm) 16” Circular Knitting Needles and Double Pointed Needles (DPNs) (optional)
