The LEO Beanie is a colorwork (fair isle) hat with a ribbed brim. This pattern includes both super bulky and bulky versions of the hat.

YARN:
For Super Bulky version:

  • Super Bulky (6) weight yarn in two contrasting colors. Approximately 90 yds total [Recommended: Lion Brand Yarns Wool-Ease Thick & Quick (170g / 97yds). This is enough yarn for 2 beanies.]
    • 55 yds of Color A
    • 35 yds of Color B

For Bulky version:

  • Bulky (5) weight yarn in two contrasting colors. Approximately 100 yds total. [Recommended: Lion Brand Yarn Color Made Easy (200g / 247yds) or any indie dyed yarn on a 3-ply Bulky base (100g / 109yds). This is enough yarn for 2 beanies.]
    • 55 yds of Color A
    • 45 yds of Color B


NEEDLES:
For Super Bulky version:

  • US 13 (9.0mm) 16” Circular Knitting Needles
  • US 15 (10.0mm) 16” Circular Knitting Needles
  • US 15 (10.0mm) Double Pointed Needles


For Bulky version:

  • US 9 (5.5mm) 16” Circular Knitting Needles
  • US 10.5 (6.5mm) 16” Circular Knitting Needles
  • US 10.5 (6.5mm) Double Pointed Needles
